A New School Year

Braden and Carter started school a bit early this year. Our school district had all students begin the school year 2 weeks early. As much as I wasn't ready for summer to end, I am grateful for the change because it means the kids will finish the 1st semester of school before Christmas break and will be out of school before Memorial Day.
The boys were very excited to start school and see their friends again. They also are very excited about their new teachers. Carter started 3rd grade and Braden is now in 5th grade. At the boy's school they do 5th grade a little differently. Instead of just one teacher they have 5. Similar to middle school, they rotate classes during the day, hence the 5 teachers, and for the last period of the day they have their specials class. Specials are classes that rotate each day of the week including: PE, Spanish, art, STEM, and music.

Riley started he last year of Pre-School a week after the boys started back. She goes to Little Stars Pre-School and her teacher is Miss. Heather. Riley also loves school and was very excited on her first day but just before it was time to go she got very nervous and worried. She is a lot like me in that way. In the end she had a great time and she absolutely loves her teacher! I am so excited to see what she will learn this year.

San Francisco Getaway

Kam and I took a last minute, quick trip to San Francisco with some of our friends. We arrived super early on Saturday morning and left for home late Sunday night. We may have only been in San Fran for about 36 hours but we packed in a lot of fun. On Saturday we dropped our stuff off at the hotel and then  headed out to rent bicycles. We biked around the city and then over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito.

A bungy cord on Kam's bike broke and got stuck in the chain on his way down a hill. Thankfully he was able to stop safely and didn't crash.

After biking we grabbed a quick bite and then headed to AT&T Park to cheer on the Giant!

The next day we rented Go-cars and drove around the city. We didn't follow the set route so we could see what we wanted to see in the amount of time we had. The only downfall was that we got stuck on some steep hills that required a bit more juice than these little cars were equipped with.

After touring the city, we headed to the Warf for shopping and yummy food. There were a bunch of people driving old cars up and down the street making all sorts of noise. It was really cool to see some of the tricks some of these cars could do.

We had so much fun with our friends! It was a super short trip but it was just the right amount of time and a perfect little getaway. I hope we can do something like this again soon.

Cub Scout Day Camp

I got to go with the boys to Cub Scout Day Camp this year. I am the Cubmaster in our ward so I kind of had to go. I wan't really looking forward to hanging out in the heat with a bunch of stinky boys but it ended up being way more fun than I thought it would be. I especially loved that I got to spend so much time with Braden (I was in charge of his group).

Braden told me he'd massage my feet if I touched the snake.
I did, and I'm glad I did cause it was worth it.

These 5 little wolves were super tight!

Ry even got in on the action during family day on the last day.
