My New Toy

For my birthday Kameron got me a new DSLR. To say I love it might be an understatement. I have been playing with it a lot and have taken every spare moment I can find to read up on how to use the thing. I'm finally starting to get the hang of how to change settings and I've been experimenting with using the manual setting... so SCARY. I have so much to learn and am going to need lots of practice but here are a few pictures I caught of the boys the other day.

One of the things I love most about Kam is his ability to fix, build and repair things especially when it comes to our cars. He is so handy! And contrary to what he believes, I love that he enjoys doing it.

Presidents' Day Weekend

Originally the plan was to have a stay-cation with the hubby, without the kids, to celebrate our anniversary but instead we kept the kids and invited our family to come spend time with us. While they were here we visited the Hoover dam, played lots of games and had a great time with each other.

Ryan found a new look at the gift shop.

 While visiting the dam we drove across the new memorial bridge and then decided to take a walk out

on it. I was pretty scared up there, plus it was really windy and that didn't help. I only walked out part of the way but most of the others went further. I must of been showing my fear because Braden got scared too.

Tubby Time

Each night after tubs we read scriptures and said prayers together.

The kids also played the roll over game; a fun family "tradition."

On Monday, our last day together, the kids played outside and went to the park with 

Grammy and Pappy. We also had lunch at In-N-Out before every one headed home.

 

Carter and Tay loved the teeter-totter.

It's occasions such as these that make me so happy I live closer to my family. I hope we get to do it again real soon!

Valentine's Day

Valentines wasn't anything spectacular at our house this year but there was definitively lots of love in the air. We made special Valentines for our family and friends (sorry they were late) and we ate lots of heart shaped things including pink heart shaped pancakes, heart shaped sandwiches and oranges, and homemade soup with heart shaped cheesies!

Brady was really cute and after asking to use the scissors made Kam and I special homemade Valentines.

In truth it doesn't really matter what you do to celebrate so long as you are with the ones you love the most.
