The boys had two days off of school for Nevada Day so we decided to head north to play with our family and to soak up some fall weather! I also really wanted to spend some one on one time with my sister Megan.
When we first arrived we met everyone at Murray Park for an adventure through the "Honkin' Woods." It's really called the Haunted Woods but we call it the Honkin' Woods because that's what my sister called it when we were little.
Blurry Picture, but they're just so cute!
Our favorite part was the doughnuts and hot chocolate at the end...and the car that honked to scare us at the end. Ironic to have a Honk at the Honkin' Woods!
Afterwards we went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner. The boys wanted to sit with Aunt Megan and Uncle Kris so they crowded around their small table.
That evening we spent the night at my mom's. The next day we spent almost the whole day outside playing in the leaves. Grammy made a huge leaf pile to play in and Braden helped to make it even bigger. The boys loved jumping into the big pile!
Riley and Navy weren't so sure though.
Grammy Willie even joined us outside.
Later that day I left with Riley to meet up with my sister and left the boys at Grammy's house to stay for the rest of the weekend. This is how I kept Riley from getting into trouble while I packed up.
Over the next couple days I got to play with Megan and Navy. Together we went shopping, went to dinner to celebrate my Gramma's Birthday with the family, planned a birthday party, had dinner together at Little America, attended the temple together and just hung out!
Riley and Navy were really fun together. They both loved poking and prodding each other. The funniest thing that happened was right after bath time. We dressed the girls in their matching glow-in-the-dark skeleton jammies and decided to try and take a picture of them in the dark. No matter what I did I couldn't get the settings right to capture the glow. I did one last adjustment and it turned on the flash and scared Navy!
I still laugh uncontrollably every time I see this picture.
Even after we turned the lights back on Navy didn't seem over it.
After 2 days of just girls time I picked up the boys and took them to Megan's ward Halloween Party. It was really fun with good food and good company as some of Kam's family were there too! It was also fun because we got to dress up again.
After the party we went to my mom's house to stay for our last night. On Sunday before going home we played in the leaves some more and had lunch on the back porch taking in the crisp fall weather!
It was a wonderful weekend. I loved having some girl time with my sister and the boys loved going on adventures with Bo and Pappy. I should mention that while I was away the boys went golfing, attended a volley-ball game, played games and ate way too many treats! Thanks Mom and Gary for taking good care of my boys and giving me some much needed sister time. Also, thanks to all my family who I got to visit with and who spoil me with each visit. Love you!
