This spring Carter wanted to play baseball again. We decided that since he wasn't being pushed in the Henderson Rec League that we would try out the more competitive Little League. The transition was a bit intense at first with try-outs and more frequent and intense practices, but all the extra work proved to be just what this little boy needed. There were certainly times when Carter was plain worn out but he and his team played really well together and with the help of amazing coaches they won all but 3 of their season games and ended up in 3rd place overall during the end of season tournament. Carter usually played 3rd baseman, right fielder, or catcher. We are so happy with what Carter has learned this season and truly are grateful for the personal coaching from all 3 of his coaches, especially the gentle encouragement from his head coach. I asked Carter if he wanted to play again next year and he hesitated before saying yes. I know it was a big jump for him and it felt at times like baseball was taking over his life, but I'm sure with a little break and a little growing he will be ready to put his all in again next year. Go Cardinals or as Riley would say, "Go Carter-nals!!!"
