From East to West

I still can't believe that school is finally over and we are back near the west coast again. It has been a long two and a half years and an even longer couple of months getting ready for and moving across the county. We certainly couldn't have done it without the help of our amazing family.

Kam's dad flew out the day after Christmas (his Birthday) to help us. The first night he was there we took it easy by going out to dinner and having treats back at the house to celebrate Grandpa's birthday.

The next few days were very crazy. Thank goodness for fabulous next door neighbors (the Hodgins') who let the boys come play even though they were getting ready to move too. At last though, the Van was loaded and it was time to take off.

No, we didn't need two vans, the other one was for our neighbors.

I was lucky enough to be able to fly home with the boys while Kam and his dad drove the cars across country to meet the truck in Vegas. While they were driving the boys and I got busy playing with our family. We Celebrated Carters birthday with a day at Planet Play and on New Years Day we got together at my Grandma Dee's for dinner and then to see the lights at Temple Square.

We also went to the Farm to attend the Auger Family Christmas Party. Usually we eat soup, visit and play in the snow by being pulled in a sled behind a snowmobile, but with no snow this year we did a hayride, visited around the bonfire, played ball and Frisbee golf and played in the leaves.

These two became big sisters to a new baby brother, Michael,
on the day of the party. Congrats Shel and Cory!

I also got to spend some time with my Gramma Goodie with a yummy lunch and visit at her house. Next time I might have to leave the boys home, but we certainly enjoyed being together.

By this time Kam and his dad made it to Vegas safely and unloaded all our stuff into our new apartment which we had never seen (Thanks Heidi, by the way, for finding it for us). Then they got back in the car and headed north.

For the next few days after that we played hard with more of our favorite people. The boys especially loved their time playing with their cousins in the snow and the quick trip to Logan to see Great Grandpa Henrie and the Horses.

We also celebrated Christmas with Gram and Grandpa Henrie. They know just how to spoil two little boys! They loved their new dress ups; a perfect gift for these two creative minds!

After our fun-filled we we decided it was due time to head to our new house and unpack and get settled. On our way down south we stopped to visit Gramma Heidi and Grampa Brad in St. George. We ended up staying over night as we would have had to sleep on the floor at our place. While there, Gramma got Carter a birthday cake and he got to open more birthday presents.

The next day Heidi and Zane joined us on the last bit of our journey south to help us get the house clean and ready to unpack. Kam's sister Kelsea also met us there to help. The boys had a great time playing with their cousins and I loved all the help I got getting the house put together.

We were only at our new place for less than 5 days before we packed the car up to head north again. Kameron wasn't able to schedule his boards before we left Pennsylvania due to some paperwork getting lost in the mail so he scheduled them in Salt Lake on the day before leaving on a family trip to Hawaii. His test was on the afternoon of the 17th and just as we knew he would, HE PASSED!

Congratulations Kam! We are so proud of you. And THANK YOU to our family who have blessed our lives so much. We appreciate all that you each do for us. Your love, support, and sacrifice on our behalf is more than we could ever ask for.

Carter Turned 3

First off let me just tell you that birthdays and moving do not mix well. It was certainly a challenge to make this day extra special for Carter with all the craziness that was happening that day - moving day. I think I did okay though and Carter was very happy all day long. The day before his birthday we had people in and out of our house packing boxes and our awesome neighbors, who were moving the same week as us, invited the boys over to play all day. That was certainly a treat for them.

On Carter's birthday we had Carter's favorite breakfast of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and he got to open a present - make your own gummy candies.

Then it was back to loading and trying to keep the boys out of the way of everyone helping us get things in the truck. I must say that I was not much help in the moving portion of the day, instead I spent most of my time snuggling the birthday boy. Carter normally does not favor me whatsoever. He loves his daddy and only when daddy is not home will he show more affection towards me and even then he can still be stingy so it was a real treat to have this little bugger loving on me. Together, with Brady, we watched movies and played silly games with cards. When dinnertime came around Carter got to pick where to go eat and of course he picked McDonald's, what 3 year old wouldn't?

After dinner we invited our next door neighbors over for cake and ice cream.

They even brought a little present for Carter.

We were going to go bowling together as a family but we were having so much fun playing with our friends we ended up doing just that and I'm so glad we did because it was a perfect way to spend our last night in Pennsylvania.

The next day we spent the whole day in either a car, a plane, or at the airport.

Carter slept the entire 2nd leg from JFK to SLC.

And on the day after that, New Years Eve, my mom planned a little party for Carter at Planet Play in Utah.

This mini-bowling was Awesome, I want one in my house!

Abi and Megan

I discovered how well Carter throws a ball while playing this game.
He made it in the hole every time.

Batman whack-a-mole with Uncle Dane and Uncle Pedo.

Deal or No Deal...we didn't win big...oh, well.

This may have been the most popular activity we did.
Carter played it over and over and over again.

By closing time we had danced a little too much, ate a little too much, and probably had a little too much fun. We headed back to my moms house for a light dinner and a night-cap. No, we didn't stay up to ring in the New Year but with all the fun we had celebrating with this 3 year old we didn't need to.

Happy Birthday Carter! I love you with all my heart.
