This weekend we received and offer on our house. At first I wanted to cry because it was much lower than we expected. After receiving some advice from our agent we put together a counter offer. I was sure the buyers were going to reject it, but they didn't! They accepted it and now our house is officially under contract. We are taking a huge hit due to the downfall of the economy. We are loosing our entire down payment, and had to sell our car and will drain our entire savings account to pay off the balance of the loan. Normally I would look at this as a disaster but everything fell right into place in a way that I cannot just call a coincidence. It was definitely the hand of the Lord working in our little family's lives.
We have also made the decision to move to Pennsylvania. Kam and I feel that is where we need to be. I am completely freaked out and once again am having those feelings of "how am I going to do this" but I know we will be blessed in ways that are too great for us to even imagine. We will be making the big move in August to a little town called Greensburg which is about 45 min. east of Pittsburgh. It is so crazy to think that I will not be living in Utah. It is going to be a great adventure!

sad to hear that you are moving, but it sounds like a great thing for you guys! congrats on the house. i think a house sold at all is a great thing in this economy!
Wow Katie, best of luck to you! I have been to Philly but never to Pittsburgh although wait, I think I have! I'd have to look at a map to be certain. I hope you guys have a great adventure!
Okay, I looked it up and I've been to Harrisburg and Philly but not to Pittsburgh. If you ever get the chance for a road trip, visit Hershey, PA...it is awesome!
I'm sorry y'all took such a huge hit! We were worried about you because we know y'all piad a lot more for your house than you'd be able to sell it for. But I'm sure things will work out. You will be missed! Hope we get some more good neighbors in :(
I'm so excited for you guys! I'm sure it's way scary, but look at all the fun memories and things you will get to do that you would never get to do otherwise! Life is a leap of faith no matter what choices you have to make. Tell Kam Congrats on getting into a school he will like!
Yeah Katie and Kam. We can't wait to see you guys out here. Pennsylvania is awesome! We love Philly, and we loved going through Pittsburg. The whole state is just beautiful. You will love it out here!

Wow! I can't believe how far away you are moving! Congrats on the house selling! I think it was a huge blessing. Our house has been on the market now for some time and we haven't had one bite. This economy stinks but at least you can get your home sold so you can move on to bigger and better things! Best of luck in the big move!

I'm so excited for you guys to move here! I totally understand about feeling "how am I going to do this?" but you just will and you'll be glad you did. Good luck with getting everything ready and PLEASE PLEASE let us know if you need any help at all.
I'm so excited for your new adventure. Taylor and I have had three "new adventures" since we got married in 2004. You will learn a lot, make new friends, and probably experience some loneliness being away from everything you know and love. If you ever want me to come visit, I can easily fly into Pittsburgh (a doctor friend of mine has been wanting me to come for a while) Good luck!
