We first spent a day at the Springs Preserve. We have visited the preserve several times over the last year thanks to my mom who gave us a membership there for Christmas. This time we decided to visit the museums and see the animals. We also watched an animal show and the boys made a chameleon craft. But the big hit by far was cracking open Geodes.
The next day we put on our hiking shoes and headed to Red Rock Canyon. We first stopped at the visitors center to look around and then we got in the car to drive the scenic Route. It was so beautiful.

We brought a picnic lunch with us and were going to eat it at one of the picnic areas but it started to rain so we just ate in the car. Luckily it didn't rain too long and we were able to take a little hike near Lost Creek.
The boys loved the hike and kept asking over and over again when we would come back. Kam and I even shared how much fun we had and how we have missed getting out and doing things together as a family. I think with the arrival of Riley we have held back on some of the more adventurous stuff but now that she is getting bigger it will be much easier to plan and participate in these little adventures together.
