New Years in Vegas

As part of our Christmas gift from my Momma and Gary, they took us to Vegas to celebrate New Years.  I personally don't really love Vegas. It's dirty and crowded and dirty and did I mention dirty? But this trip was so much fun and nothing like any of my other trips to Vegas. We stayed at an awesome, brand new resort just behind the MGM Grand and did lots of fun things that didn't keep us out in the yuckiness of the strip for too long.

Braden and K were pretty much the bestest buds around the whole time.
{I love that K is pretending to sleep here}
Even K and Carter got along this trip.
 Carter got his face tattooed by K.

We took the kids to Circus Circus for some not-too-expensive fun...I love coupons!
Flying Airplanes
Waiting in Line
The Bus...{love that Ryan sneaked his way onto the ride}
The Train
This ride was the best. Both K and Braden laughed and giggled the whole time!
Carter slept most the time.
When he woke up, Carter went on the train with K
and then he went on the Merry-go-Round about 100 times.
He cried every time he had to get off,
even though we got right back on two seconds later.
Heading back to the Condo for some dinner.

The kids bathed together each night.
The boys got their very own bed...
Carter thought it was so cool to sleep like a Big Boy!
On New Years Eve, Carter went swimming with Bo...
we forgot to pack swimsuits so he went in his new undies he got for Christmas.
He's not really sleeping, he was just pretending.
After swimming and some lunch, we took the kids to see a magic show.
We sat next to a couple who made balloon hats and animals for the kids.
We put the kids to bed and watched a movie and waited for the fireworks!
In the morning we headed back to St. George
for some more fun with my Daddy.
Happy New Years!

Christmas Program

Braden had a special Christmas Program at his School the day we left for Utah. The kids all dressed up as figures from the Nativity and sang songs for the parents. They did a really great job and Braden was definitely the cutest Donkey ever!

 After the program, Braden got to exchange presents with one of his
classmates since they both would be missing the Happy Birthday Jesus
Party the school was doing a few days later.

Boys and Girls

We spent our New Years in Vegas this year with my mom and as we were driving back towards St. George to spend some more time with my Dad and Heidi, Braden and my sister Megan had this conversation:

Megan: How do you know your mom's a GIRL?

Braden: She looks like a GIRL.

Megan: How do you know your dad's a BOY?

Braden: He looks like a BOY?

Megan: What if I looked like a BOY? Would I be a BOY?

Braden: No, you'd be an UGLY GIRL!

Carter, Yes. Braden? Not so much.

We had a good little storm come through yesterday and last night which caused delays for school yesterday and today it was canceled altogether. From the pictures most of you will probably laugh at the grass showing through and wonder why they would cancel school, but out here, this is a BIG storm. Anyway, although the school closings didn't affect us since Brady doesn't have school on Tuesdays it did mean that all the neighbor kids were home to play with, so after eating breakfast we headed out with everyone to play in the snow! I got the boys and myself all dressed up in our snow clothes {Braden twice; he had to go pee right after I finished dressing him} and braved the freezing temps for some winter fun. Unfortunately Braden didn't like how cold it was and after getting a little snow in his face he was done and headed inside to watch us out the window. Carter on the other hand loved it. He loved being pulled up the hill in the sled and then going down again and again, all by himself might I add. If I stopped even just long enough to shovel the driveway for a minute he would be begging to go for "a ride"!

I think I made a mistake

Last night while giving Kameron and Braden haircuts I got the silly idea to cut Carter's hair. His hair was getting really long and it really needed to be done but up until now I just couldn't bring myself to do it, but last night I did it. Actually, Kameron did the haircut while I cried over the loss of Carty's long, blond locks. Carter, on the other hand, was really excited about the whole thing and held really still. He was most excited to see himself in the mirror when it was all done.

Before...
{I probably should have taken a better before,
this one doesn't show off his long hair very well.}
During...
 After...

PS. Daddy Brady, you should be receiving a special package in the mail.
      I wonder what it will be?
