Preschool Graduation!

Mr. Carter graduated from preschool today! Carter has been attending ABC ETC. Preschool at Valley View Recreation Center. He went to school with his his best friend Harrison who lives just down the street from us. His graduation today was really cute. The kids sang several songs and went up in groups for a small speaking part. At the end each child was called by name to walk across the stage and pose with their diploma! Carter spent most of the ceremony waving to Kam and me. I normally don't get emotional when it comes to my kids growing up but I ended up being a bit of a wreck today. I teared up several times before, during and after the ceremony. I guess it's just hard for me to accept that my baby boy is growing up. If you ask him though, he loves that he is getting bigger and can not wait to join Braden at Pinecrest as a Kindergartener!

Henrie Family Reunion 2014

This year for the Henrie Family Reunion Kameron and I invited everyone down to our house for the weekend so we could spend some much wanted time together. Our last reunion was 2 years ago. We wanted to make this an annual tradition but with the birth of 3 new babies last year it was difficult to get together.

To start the fun off we had dinner together at Red Robin and then got everyone settled in their "sleeping quarters" for a good nights rest. The next morning we had breakfast together and then the guys left to go shooting in the desert and the girls took the kids to the Children's Museum.

Unfortunately the museum was really busy (there were 3 or 4 schools there visiting as well). Despite the crowd the kids had a fun time and we only lost 1 child in the chaos (poor Carter.)

After the museum we came home for some lunch and then headed to the park to enjoy the awesome weather.

Some of us had too much fun on the pogo-stick.

The rest of the day was spent just hanging out. It was really fun to have the little girls together. I'm pretty sure this is the first time all 3 of them were together all at once. I have a feeling they are going to be great friends.

Along with having fun with her little girly cousins, Riley was basically

 glued to Grampa nearly the whole trip. I think that their weekly 

Face Time chats helped to break the ice. 

After a yummy BBQ dinner together at the house the girls headed to the strip for a yummy treat from Carlo's Bake Shop.

We got a couple of different treats but the best overall were the lobster tails.

On Saturday we went to the Hoover Dam. We first drove over the Hoover Dam Bypass and then got out and walked over it. It is such a neat view up there.

I am crazy terrified of heights, so is Kam's sister, so it was a bit terrifying for me to be on the bridge especially since it was so windy but I managed to crawl over to the edge and look down.

As we headed back to the cars it started to rain and the kids were hungry so we ended up not going down to the walk across the dam. At the house we decorated and played some fun games together to celebrate my nephew's birthday. He turned 5 while we were together.

My nephew little b was so fun to watch when playing pin-the-sign. 

He walked all in circles and even ran into the wall. 

He ended up putting his sign on Grampa.

The kids also colored pictures and then little b opened presents.

This reaction was the best! He had just opened most of his presents when he opened this book that his mom made for him. It was a book all about him with pictures of him as a baby and stories of funny things he would do. He wasn't so sure it was worth being excited about.

The kids did not need much help from the adults to have fun. They played, and played, and played. I loved watching their little imaginations run wild. One activity though that Gramma wanted to do was make a pyramid with all the boys.

The whole weekend was so much fun. Fun games, good food, lots of laughs and the most important, lots of togetherness time! I am so very grateful for this time with our family. It's crazy to think that it will be a long while before we can all be together again. Hopefully it's not too long!

It's really hard to say goodbye.
