First Grade Awards Ceremony

The school year is nearly at an end. Time really does fly! Braden has had a wonderful year in first grade. He has grown so much and learned a ton. This year Braden's love of reading has grown, his handwriting has improved, he has found a love for science and learning how things work, he has become an independent thinker and has his own opinions of what he likes and doesn't like especially when it comes to dressing himself and combing his hair. Braden is a great helper at school and at home. His teacher is always complimenting Braden and thanking him for being a good example.

Braden's school had a little awards ceremony for the kids. It wasn't anything big. The whole fist grade sang and danced to a few songs for the parents and then we separated into classes and Mr. R handed out a special gift for the kids (he made a collage of words that he felt described each child that he had framed) and shared some thoughts about the past year. I was surprised that he was a little emotional sharing his love for the class and his appreciation to all the help from the parents. Braden is really going to miss Mr. R.
