YES, I am Crazy!

So, silly me I decided to go and have pictures done of our family while pregnant. I really wanted to have these done months ago. We don't have a family picture of just the three of us that is really good. I did have pictures done when Braden was 2 month old, but they are hideous in the worst way. I was totally in need of a haircut and we all just looked, well, dumb. I must have been crazy to do these, but now seeing the final result I am so glad that I did. Here are some of my favorite shots.

I also need to give a big shout out to Lindsay and Linda from elle Potography for the amazing job they did on these. I especially love that they were able to capture our story with little effort on our part which is amazing when you have a busy 2 year old who doesn't want to sit still. I met Lindsay and Linda through a good friend and have enjoyed their work and working with them. In fact it was Lindsay who shot Braden's 1 year old pictures that I have posted. Thanks to you both, you're amazing!

My Best Friend

I am the luckiest woman in the world! I have the best husband who does more than his fair share. All during my pregnancy Kam has been so good to help me out. He helps me with Braden, even taking him with him to run errands or to play with him just so I can rest or take a break. He cleans the whole house pretty much every week. Actually, he hasn't just been doing that since I found out we were expecting, he usually cleans all the bathrooms, dishes and mops the floor every week. Now he has been adding to that list picking up the house and vacuuming the floors as well as many other things. He always puts me first even when he is really tired or wants to do something for himself. I really am so lucky to have such a great eternal companion who not only looks out for me and our little family but works really hard too.  I am so proud of him and can't believe that he is mine.

PS. Happy Birthday Baby!

make up your mind - a baby update

Over the past few months I have been struggling with the question posed by my OB, "Are you sure on your dates?" Well the answer is "NO!" It all started when I began feeling the baby move very early in my pregnancy. I didn't think too much of it at the time because the doc said that I would; this being a second pregnancy. However I wasn't just feeling the flutter-by's, these were full on kicks and punches. And it wasn't just that I felt the baby very soon , I was also measuring big. At my 20 week ultrasound I measured almost 3 weeks ahead of schedule and a month later I was measuring 4 weeks further. My doctor has scheduled another ultrasound to have the baby measured. I'm hoping that it gives us more answers and that I can soon know when this little kiddo is to come be part of our family. I don't think I'd worry too much if I weren't having to plan a C-Section, I'd just wait it out and let him come when  he wants. So now the question for me, the doctor and anyone else who wants to take a wager: Is my due date January 31, January 18, or January 4?

Happy Halloween

Halloween was a crazy day. Kam had the night off but he worked the night before so he slept the first half of the day. Our day began by having breakfast at Konnie's house (Kam's sister). We had yummy pumpkin pancakes with apple cider syrup! After breakfast I decided to try and catch up on some neglected housework since I was gone most of the week. As I busied myself so did Braden by dumping paint all over the rug in the kitchen, getting desitin in the carpet and somehow a glitter crayon or glue was left in the pocket of his pants and it melted all over a load of lights! It took forever to get it all cleaned up. I about lost my temper but luckily Konnie had come over to borrow a costume for her Ryan and helped me not loose my cool and helped me clean up. She knew some good tricks for getting everything not to stain. Braden was so cute. He knew I was mad and instantly told me he was "so sorry, Mommy." My heart just melted and I wanted to spend the rest of the day snuggling with my little bud. Braden went down for a nap and Kam woke up and I finally got myself in the shower. I was ready just in time for Brady to wake and go visit my sister Megan at work and then down south to Alpine to Trick-or-Treat with Grammy Bo. We had a yummy soup dinner with her ward/neighborhood followed by a rainy evening of Trick-or-Treating. Braden got a good haul and was uncommonly shy for everyone. We really had a great ending to a most chaotic day.

Grammy Bo, Braden the Horsey, and
me with Baby Carter dressed up too!

a warm weekend

Yea, so I took my camera with me and what do you know I didn't take one picture! I'll have to get some pictures from Heidi.
Braden and I had the best time in St. George visitng Jamma Heidi, Papa and Abi. We left early Friday morning and drove almost straight through (we stopped in Fillmore to go potty and to let Braden go down the "slippy-slide.") Heidi's neighbor drove down with me so that she could help out at the enrichment Heidi had planned. Once we were there we spent some time resting and then headed over to the church to help Heidi with her big "Freaky-Friday" Enrichment. She had planned 16 different crafts and dinner! It was crazy. My favorite was watching sister's who had never sewn before sew. What a laugh...it reminded me of some of my first sewing adventures. The night was long and for me I had the excuse to take Braden home to sleep and didn't have to help too much in cleaning up. But we were all pooped! Leave it to Heidi to plan big and then get stuck doing all the work. She really  is amazing; and after visiting their ward on Sunday it seems that she has made quite the impression on everyone there. All the sister's couldn't say enough about how great the whole night turned out.
The rest of the weekend was very relaxing. I had a great girls day on Saturday (my dad went to Provo for the BYU game.) We went shopping, visited the What Women Want Expo, and had a yummy dinner.
I planned on going home on Monday, but Kam was worried about me driving home alone 7 mos. preg. with a 2 year old so I stayed a few more days and carpooled home with my parents Wednesday morning. (They came home for a Jazz game that evening.) It was so nice to not have to worry to much about anything and take it easy. I had fun with my dad and Heidi without Kam. Braden really enjoyed being with Jamma and Papa. He just adores them and misses them a lot. We can't wait for next weekend when they'll be up here visiting us.
